My name is Ana Ibarra, I organize free clothing swaps and workshops in Toronto, Ontario. Currently, I work as a teacher in community centers. This year, I am starting as a Remake ambassador, and I will also begin working with Autism Ontario.

We are a Mexican family with a child on the autism spectrum, born in Canada. The high cost of therapies has made us reflect on what truly matters—it's better to repair and reuse clothing than to contribute to more pollution. I studied fashion design in my home country, and since my native language is Spanish, I can help spread this message not only to the Canadian community but also to the Latin American community living in Canada.

Fashion Revolution Toronto is hosting a Public Mending Day at 1033 College Street. Bring your own personal mending projects, holey things and help keep our textiles in loop!

This Fashion Revolution Week, all over the world we are coming together to mend and put care into the clothing that we already own! Join the Fashion Revolution Toronto team’s Mend in Public Day on April 26th at 1033 College Street from 2-4pm.

One of the most powerful things that you can do is agitate the industry’s status quo. On April 26th 2024 we are coming together in public spaces to demand that the fashion industry take action by refusing to partake in the capitalist system and instead mend our textiles to keep them in loop.

All are welcome to come to mend with us! The more we are, the greater the impact we can make!

Sometimes you buy something that doesn't quite fit you. Sometimes your favorite pants rip at the worst possible moment. Sometimes things just don't go as planned... and that's perfectly okay! Do you have clothes in your closet that you don't wear? Bring them along and give them a second life!

Every 5 minutes, 1 million items of clothing are made, less than 1 percent is recycled. In addition, the fashion industry is responsible for 2 to 8 percent of global greenhouse gas emissions. These are staggering figures that prove how important it is to make your wardrobe more sustainable.

During the Miskoop Markt, you can creatively reuse your clothes. Admission and participation in the workshops are free.
