Creative Director at The Top Project. Niki Taylor’s practice is strongly influenced from her background as a Multi-Disciplinary Product & Fashion Designer with 20 years of experience working globally as a designer for the UK high street and within the luxury sector previously with own label ‘OLANIC'. Disturbed by the far reaching effects of the Fashion Industry on humanity and the environment lead her to explore new creative ways of working driven by cross-collaboration. Her work explores the complexities of Fast Fashion, Consumerism and Waste. She currently teaches Sustainability, Zero Waste and circularity workshops and is a visiting lecturer at Edinburgh College of Art. @thetopproject

Karyn is a researcher, sewer and knitter. While studying geography at university she became aware of the issues regarding ethics and the environment around the fashion industry. She brought her long-time love of clothing and environmental issues together writing her dissertation on the second-hand clothing market and consumption. She continued this line of research focusing on material culture and practices of repair as a postgraduate student. Karyn uses her creativity and research skills to share both practical tips and knowledge and is thrilled to be doing this as part of the Fashion Revolution team.

Ana Fernández is a journalist and photographer based in Edinburgh. Her career in the fashion industry started with the long-term coverage of Seoul Fashion Week for various magazines and ended after learning about the “true cost” behind it. Since then, she changed the way she enjoys fashion and started to write and share content about sustainable options. Discovering clothes swaps changed her life! You can find her at @anafernez

Karen is currently studying ways in which mindful methods of clothes-care can impact sustainable fashion. She previously promoted sustainable shopping through the creation of a colour classification system app. Through it consumers were encouraged to only buy clothes they were confident they would repeatedly wear. Karen has been part of the Fashion Revolution Scotland voluntary team since 2015.

Vivienne is a Designer, Consultant and all-round Creative who has long worked in the garment industry and campaigned for the ethical treatment of garment workers. She is on the Freelance Design Team at the new V&A Scotland in Dundee and is also a consultant to a number of exciting sustainable fashion and social projects in Edinburgh and Glasgow. Ruth MacGilp is an Edinburgh-based blogger, freelance fashion writer, and digital marketer with a special interest in ethical and sustainable fashion. She is currently studying towards a degree in Fashion Communication at Heriot-Watt University, where she is the official Fashion Revolution Student Ambassador and has additional experience studying at Robert Gordon University, Central Saint Martins and Parsons School of Design. In 2016, Ruth won Scottish Blogger of the Year, and in 2017 she was a runner-up in Sustainable Online Business of the Year, at the Herald Fashion Awards. Ruth regularly attends Graduate Fashion Week, London Fashion Week and New York Fashion Week as a member of the press, and has worked for various creative companies in Scotland, including the Scottish Design Exchange, Fashion Fix Daily, Craft Scotland and Scotland Re:Designed, as well as regularly collaborating with with international ethical fashion brands for her blog and writing articles for the likes of Not Just A Label and The Glass Pineapple.

Mary Beth is passionate about the realisation of human rights for garment workers throughout the industry. After graduating with a First Class Honours from International Fashion Branding, she recognised the need for further research into the legal obligations of states and brands to respect all of those in the fashion industry's supply chains. Mary Beth went on to pursue a Masters in Law, focussed on the application of International Human Rights Law within global business, and particularly within garment manufacturing. This period of study also allowed her to review aspects of trade law, investment law and migration law as they impact upon the human rights of garment workers. She hopes to continue to develop her research of human rights in fashion, challenging policy and seeking the great change that Fashion Revolution call for.
