Aruzhan Akchanova

Aruzhan is an artist and a textile designer. Studying BA Textile Design at Central Saint Martins, London and specialising in weave.

Ever since a young age she has always been passionate about art and drawn to tactile surfaces and mixed media.Being able to combine creativity with technical knowledge of fabric construction, has enabled her to combine artistry with professional craft. She has always been inspired by her surroundings and finds interest in juxtaposing textures and shapes in her designs in order to create unique fabrics. Diving into the world of textile design has made her aware of the importance of the choices she makes as a designer, as they come with environmental and ethical impacts in the industry. 

By joining Fashion Revolution she is very excited to commit to bringing the movement of conscious consumption into her homeland.
