Come and try embroidery as a form of expression in the workshop hosted by Evi Rinkinen!

The closing weekend of the Fashion Revolution week starts with a slow rebellion in form of embroidery! In our busy late-capitalist times, slower and traditional craft techniques are the best counter-movement to consumer culture. Embroidery bends from decoration to repair. In the workshop, you get to learn and try embroidery technique according to the model drawn by the artist or with a self-drawn subject. At the workshop we will familiarize ourselves with the topicality of hand-made and embroidery as a means of expression.

Evi Rinkinen (b. 1994 in Jyväskylä) is an illustrator, designer and visual artist from Helsinki. She is also a fourth-generation seamstress, who thinks that making clothes herself is the greatest rebellion in this time. Rinkinen's background is in clothing and textile design, from which she has moved on to work in illustration and fine art using textiles and painting.

The participation fee includes the equipment, no previous knowledge is needed.
