The Clothing Exchange was founded by Kate Luckins in Melbourne, Australia in 2004. Following a collaboration with the L'Oreal Melbourne Fashion Festival in 2006, The Clothing Exchange has become a regular event for swappers in a host of wonderful venues across Australia.

At The Clothing Exchange, we believe that looking good shouldn’t cost the earth – yet current manufacturing and fashion industry practices are responsible for a vast amount of damage to the environment and to the lives of clothing industry workers.

Fashion Revolution Week is upon us and there’s no better way to celebrate and increase awareness by holding a clothes swap on Saturday April 24.

Fashion Revolution Week is the time when we come together as a global community to create a better fashion industry. It centres around the anniversary of the Rana Plaza factory collapse, which killed 1,138 people and injured many more on 24 April 2013. This year, as we mark 8 years since the tragedy, Fashion Revolution Week will focus on the interconnectedness of human rights and the rights of nature. The campaign will amplify unheard voices across the fashion supply chain and harness the creativity of our community to explore innovative and interconnected solutions.

This event will be a COVID safe event operating under the guidelines of the NSW Government and understanding that social distancing is critical to slowing down the rate of COVID-19 infection, we will adhere to the number of swappers allowed into the venue.

Because this is our first event of 2021 we are offering a special ticket price of $15 and would like all swappers to bring up to 8 amazing items that you have consciously picked from your wardrobe that you no longer wear but know others will love!

Drinks will be served on arrival.
