Edurne Herrán

Edurne Herrán es artista visual y educadora de arte residente en Berlín, y ha estado trabajando durante dos meses en el espacio de Fantastik Lab gracias a una beca de movilidad europea y el Goethe Institut. La Asociación Cultura-Sistema la selección, entre múltiples candidaturas, para desarrollar estrategias creativas (enfocadas en el arte y lo textil) aplicadas a la didáctica.
Durante dos meses, Edurne ha investigado recorriendo los museos, callesjuelas y pequeños comercios de Valencia, para sacudir esa información y volcarla en un dispositivo que permitirá replicar una serie de talleres a lo largo del planeta. El resultado es un cóctel de información, saberes, materiales y culturas, que irá creciendo con el tiempo, al que la creadora ha llamado El Costurero Viajero

Programa:
12:00 Presentación de resultados de la residencia artística en Fantastik Lab.
13:00 SWAP - Intercambio de ropa en Fantastik Lab (trae las prendas -limpias y en buenas condiciones- que ya no uses y llévate otras que te gusten).
14:00 Comida (trae algo de picar o cómpralo en un supermercado cercano) y 'Bordado y remiendo' en el parque de la Cabecera, con motivo del 'día internacional del remiendo en público' (iniciativa de la plataforma 'Fashion Revolution'). Punto de encuentro: delante del anfiteatro del Parque de la Cabecera. El evento finalizará a las 17:00

The Traveling Sewing Box: Conference, Flea Market, Picnic, Sewing, and Park

Edurne Herrán is a visual artist and art educator based in Berlin. She has been working for two months at the Fantastik Lab space thanks to a European mobility grant and the Goethe Institute. The Asociación Cultura-Sistema selected her from among multiple applications to develop creative strategies (focused on art and textiles) applied to teaching.
For two months, Edurne has researched the museums, alleyways, and small businesses of Valencia, to gather that information and translate it into a device that will allow a series of workshops to be replicated across the planet. The result is a cocktail of information, knowledge, materials, and cultures that will grow over time. The creator has called it The Traveling Sewing Box.

Program:
12:00 Presentation of the results of the artist residency at Fantastik Lab.
1:00 PM SWAP - Clothing exchange at Fantastik Lab (bring clean, good-condition clothes you no longer wear and take others you like).
2:00 PM Lunch (bring a snack or buy it at a nearby supermarket) and "Embroidery and Mending" in Cabecera Park, in honor of "International Day of Mending in Public" (an initiative of the "Fashion Revolution" platform). Meeting point: in front of the amphitheater in Cabecera Park. The event will end at 5:00 PM.
