2025年4月25日（金）、TRUNK (HOTEL)にて、シンポジウム 「Waste to Wear: ゴミになる服、ならない服」 を開催いたします。本イベントは、世界的なムーブメント FASHION REVOLUTION の日本支部であるFASHION REVOLUTION JAPAN が主催し、ファッション・繊維の循環の課題に取り組む国内外の最前線のプレーヤーを迎えて開催されます。

服の供給量の増加に伴い、国内だけでも毎日1200トン近くの衣類がゴミとなっています（環境省 サステナブルファッションより）。この状況に対し、「服のゴミが増えるとどんな影響があるのか？」「なぜ服がゴミになるのか？」「服をゴミにしないためには何が必要か？」を多様な立場から議論し、多くの人が現状を知り、行動につなげることを目指します。

Symposium "Waste to Wear: Clothes that become garbage and clothes that don't"
The symposium "Waste to Wear: Clothes that become garbage and clothes that don't" will be held at TRUNK (HOTEL) on Friday, April 25, 2025. This event is organized by FASHION REVOLUTION JAPAN, the Japanese branch of the global movement FASHION REVOLUTION, and will welcome frontline players from Japan and abroad who are tackling the challenges of fashion and textile circulation.

■ Background and purpose of the event

With the increase in the supply of clothing, nearly 1,200 tons of clothing become waste every day in Japan alone (according to the Ministry of the Environment's Sustainable Fashion). In response to this situation, we will discuss from various perspectives, "What impact does an increase in clothing waste have?", "Why do clothes become waste?", and "What is needed to prevent clothes from becoming waste?", with the aim of encouraging many people to understand the current situation and take action.
