👖JEANS: a journey of consumerism 👖
This week is Fashion Revolution Week, a global time for awareness on the (lack of) transparency of the fashion supply chain. It marks the unfortunate and avoidable loss of more than 1000 lives in the Rhana Plaza factory collapse on the 24rd of April 2013 in Dhaka, Bangladesh.
Because we all consume, wear, choose and work somehow with clothes, we offer to share a moment with you to uncover what’s behind them.
Together with Monika Gravagno (MA Social Design), we will go through the extent of the fashion supply chain to unveil what it takes to make a pair of jeans. Combining Fashion Revolution infographics and a Levi Strauss jeans autopsy and a tracing investigation of its components ("Who Made your Clothes?" Exhibition part of Off-Biennale 2017 in Venice) we will feed you the MANY problems of the fashion industry and all together digest on what to do as a consumer, and as a Designer.
