We believe in a future where no usable fabric ends up in Canadian landfills. Our Social Fabric is a non-profit fabric recycling initiative, selling donated fabric and fibre arts supplies online and in-person. We keep ‘waste’ fabric out of landfill by getting it into the hands of the fibre arts and slow-fashion community. As part of Fashion Revolution Week 2024, Our Social Fabric is excited to announce a special donations drive event! Are you looking to declutter your sewing stash while contributing to a worthy cause? Look no further!
Join us on Sunday, April 21, from 10 AM to 2 PM, as we invite you to bring in your surplus fabrics and sewing supplies to donate. Whether it's fabric meterage, unused notions, or sewing tools gathering dust in your craft room, we welcome your generous contributions to support our mission of promoting sustainable fashion practices.
Here's how it works:
Simply gather your donations of fabric or sewing supplies.
Drop by our store during the event hours with your donations. No appointment necessary!
Ensure your donation meets our criteria and minimum requirement of 10 pounds in weight.
And as a token of our gratitude for your support, we're offering a fantastic incentive:
Receive a 10% off discount coupon for our store to be spent that day for every donation meeting the minimum weight requirement!
Please note:
Donors must be able to bring their donations up to the store themselves. Unfortunately, we won't have the capacity to assist with unloading or carrying.
Donations must meet our donations criteria to qualify for the discount coupon.
Donation criteria:
Unused full-width fabric of 0.5 meter length or more (NO SCRAPS please)
quilting cottons (fat quarter or larger scraps only)
leather
sewing supplies such as trims, sewing tools and notions
patterns (uncut only)
functioning sewing machines (but not table sewing machines as we just don't have space for them)
knitting and embroidery supplies
NO books (sorry our library is full)
