Torrens University is Australia’s international university and vocational registered training organisation, built on the shoulders of giants. We have partnered with prestigious schools and colleges, to develop a fresh, modern, global perspective for higher education.
Torrens University Australia, in partnership with Collective Fashion Justice, is excited to present Catalysts for Change: Transforming the Fashion Industry, an event held in the context of Fashion Revolution Week.
Join us for an evening dedicated to advocating for an ethical, sustainable and transparent fashion industry that values people, animals and the planet alike.
The event will start with a short screening of Collective Fashion Justice's award-winning documentary, SHIRINGA: Fashion Regenerating Amazonia, about an Indigenous-made bio-leather.
Following the screening, Senior Lecturer in Fashion Marketing and Enterprise Dr Rachel Lamarche-Beauchesne will moderate a panel discussion featuring:
- Georgie Purcell MP of the Victorian Parliament: sharing insights on legislative measures as well as policy advocacy in both domestic and international contexts.
- Emma Hakansson: founding director of Collective Fashion Justice, author, podcaster, and documentary director campaigning and consulting towards industry change.
- Todd Anthony: Head of Fashion Programming at PayPal Melbourne Fashion Festival, discussing the integration of sustainability and ethical practices in large-scale fashion events.
A period for questions will follow.
This event will be an opportunity to engage with thought leaders and change-makers who are at the forefront of transforming the fashion industry.
