Join the repair revolution on #MendInPublicDay ! - This is a FREE service!
Come along any time 10am-1pm at Barnstaple Library to bring your items back to life, learn new skills, save money and the planet!
This month can offer:
👖 Textile & clothing repairs
Such as replacing zips and buttons (bring your own zips and buttons), darning teddy bears, simple alterations, visible darning
📻 Small electrical, mechanical & toy repairs
Such as radios, headphones, cameras etc
💍 Minor jewellery repairs
However, as we rely on volunteers, we can't always guarantee that all these skills will be available.
If you have any questions, email info@plasticfreenorthdevon.org at least 48 hours before the event to give us time to respond.
👉Please note:
We are not a professional repair service, so please don’t bring us ‘fancy’ repairs like wedding dresses - just drop us a message if you’re not sure.
☕We will also be serving cake and hot drinks to keep you refreshed while you watch and learn.
🧵If you are unsure on whether to bring an item or not - please email info@plasticfreenorthdevon.org and we will run it by our sewing stars to see what we can do.
💸 This is a FREE service! Donations are welcome but not expected.
💚 We'd love it if you could stay whilst we repair your items, our cafes are about building community connection and sharing skills too.
More Information: 🙏THANKS AND FUTURE PLANS🙏
Our Barnstaple Repair Cafe is a partnership project, part of Plastic Free North Devon’s expanding Repair Cafe network, hosted by the Pannier Market. These are also made possible thanks to our stakeholders; NDVS, Barnstaple Rotary Club, 361 Energy, Barnstaple Library and North Devon with Ukraine, as well as support from Barnstaple Town Council and of course, our incredible volunteers and the local community.
Thanks to funding from the Post Code Lottery and NatureSave funding and previous funding from National Lottery Together For Our Planet Community Fund, and the support of North Devon towns and villages, we currently have repair cafes in Landkey, Braunton, South Molton, Ilfracombe, and Barnstaple.
