Join us in an engaging workshop to discover how what your clothes are made of impacts the environment and the people who make them, and to learn how to use this knowledge to build a more eco-friendly wardrobe.
What's in our clothes? It’s not often that we stop to think about this, but the composition of our garments is one of the key places to look at when we consider minimising the impact of our clothes. Not only is it important in order to understand their environmental impact, but knowing what our clothes are made of is also fundamental to know how to take care of them, extend their lifetime, and minimise their impact while they live a happy life in your wardrobe.
But oh my, can garment composition be an opaque and confusing world! There is a lot that care labels don’t tell us, and often we don’t know what to do with the information that they do tell us. In this session, we’ll cover all the hard questions and give you some easy to follow tips that you can use as our compass in future purchases. Expect to learn about fabrics and their impact on the planet, to have fun digging through your wardrobe and connecting with your clothes, and to have interesting conversations with fellow participants on the power of materials and transparency. Please bring 10 garments to the event.
This workshop is part of Fashion Revolution Week (19th – 25th April) and open to everybody, free of cost.
