TICKETS £3 – AVAILABLE HERE: https://www.brightongirlmag.com/shop/brighton-fashion-revolution-film-screening-the-machinists
To kick off Fashion Revolution Week and the #whomakesyourclothes campaign Revival Collective want to invite you to an exclusive film screening of Hannan Majid and Richard York’s revelatory documentary, ‘ The Machinists’.
Filmed in 2010, the film explores the exploitation of garment workers in Bangladesh. Majid and York tell the stories of three, young women, working in factories in Dhaka, giving a voice to people that have experienced first hand working in terrible and unethical conditions, all for the price of fashion.
This exposé of the dark truths of a seemingly ‘glamourous’, fashion industry is truly eye-opening. The Machinsts, highlights the perpetual lack of transparency within the fashion industry, as well as answering really important questions about who makes the clothes that we all buy without considering their origin.
Tickets available now! There are only 13 places available so make sure to get them soon!
Also, please arrive on time so you have a chance to get a drink and a seat before we start the film!
This film screening is the first of a week of events, curated by Revival Collective in honour of Fashion Revolution Week.
